I created all these dolls/small sculptures in Germany. I modelled and painted the faces and hands, the clothing is my own design, sewn and embellished with beads. Also self-made attributes like bow and arrows or drum or shoes complete each doll.



Alle diese Figuren wurden von mir in Deutschland selbst gefertigt. Die Gesichter sind von mir modelliert und bemalt, die Kleidung ist ebenfalls eigenes Design, von mir genäht und mit Perlen bestickt. Ebenfalls selbstgefertigt sind die Attribute wie Bogen und Pfeile, Trommel und Accessoirs wie die Schuhe.

Marionetten, Puppen, Skulpturen

Wenn man "Puppen" im Internet sucht, findet man außer Kinderspielzeug auch Figuren, die textil bekleidet sind, deren Gliedmaßen aber starr sind. Es handelt sich also um bekleidete Statuen. Ich gebe meinen Figuren bewegliche Gliedmaßen. Sie können sitzen oder auch mit einer Hilfe stehen. Jede bekommt ein Podest aus Gips mit einem Haltestab, der biegsame Arme trägt, die der Puppe Halt zum Stehen verleihen.

Meine Puppen sind wiederum keine Marionetten. Wenn sie das wären, müßten sie hängend aufbewahrt werden.

Dolls? Sculptures?

When looking for "dolls" in the internet, you may find mostly toys for kids; but apart from that, there are art dolls with textile clothing, but with fixed limbs. We can call them dressed statues. My dolls have mobile joints, they can sit or stand by means of a stand made of plaster, wood, and wire. The doll rests on wire arms.
They are no string puppets either, but could be.

He insisted to show the trick he is so proud of. He took his sandals off, laid down bow and arrows and stood without the help of the stand (background). He is the only one of my dolls who can do it; and as he has so many joints, I really wonder how he manages to stand alone.
