Our grandparents

The parents of my mother, Friedebert and Ellen. Both were born in Tallinn/Reval. They first met in the YMCA, where Ellen played piano for the choir. This is a picture from their engagement. Grandpa sometimes teased her and said, she was Jewish. She grew very angry when he did.

This was their engagement photo in 1913

Our grandfather loved to wear a cap, even when he stayed indoors. He was very exact with little things, he prolonged pencils by using a handle, until they were really used up. He had been a merchant, working for drugstores.

His mother was née Passer.
He was a pious Christian.
